Stellar has played a significant role in the completion of the UF Health Durbin Park, a 42.5-acre health and wellness campus situated in St. Johns County, Florida. This major development aims to enhance access to advanced medical services across Northeast Florida.
The first phase of UF Health Durbin Park includes a three-story, 72,000-square-foot medical office building, alongside a five-story, 220,000-square-foot hospital. These facilities are strategically located in the burgeoning Durbin Park community. Stellar served as the primary construction manager for these projects, while design responsibilities were handled by Gresham Smith.
The UF Health Durbin Park Medical Office Building 1 hosts a variety of specialty services, including general surgery, gynecology, heart and vascular care, laboratory services, neurology, neurosurgery, orthopedics, outpatient rehabilitation, pain management, and urology. Adjacent to this, the UF Health Durbin Park Hospital is equipped with 99 inpatient beds and a 24-hour emergency department. The hospital offers acute, intensive, and emergency care, along with operating rooms, advanced imaging, and hybrid laboratories for interventional procedures.
In a joint venture with Batson-Cook Construction, Stellar managed the project, which also included the construction of a standalone central energy plant crucial for the campus’s infrastructure. This development is part of a broader $1 billion investment by UF Health Durbin Park, anticipated to generate approximately 2,000 jobs in the region.
The project aims to meet the healthcare needs of the growing population in St. Johns County and Jacksonville. The successful completion of this phase marks another milestone in Stellar’s extensive involvement in major healthcare construction projects and its ongoing partnership with UF Health.
